I know what you’re thinking… I don’t want to invest my time and money into a photography session because I know that my kids won’t “behave.” Listen, I completely understand this concern. I hear it all the time from parents who dream about a photo session of their family and want it to be as perfect as possible. Here is what you need to know…

There is no perfect.

I’ve been photographing children of all ages, many of them have been toddlers, for 12 years and this is what I’ve learned… There is no perfect!

And actually, perfect photos are incredibly overrated anyway!

Real is beautiful!

As a portrait photographer, my number one goal is to create beautiful, real images of your family that you will cherish for years to come. As a mom, I want to look back at the photos and remember my kids as their true happy little selves and I know you will too. Toddlers keep it real and when I catch their smiles and laughter, it’s because it was real and not at all posed or rehearsed.

I LOVE working with toddlers!!!

So what should you do if your child doesn’t want their photo taken?

Have no fear! The first thing I do is give your child some time to warm up. I let them get used to me first. We talk and play for a while, then, when I know they are ready, we move on to pictures. I take my time and I never rush them.

If they are still feeling unsure, I will start with family photos so they are sitting with you. We play games and sing songs… I make it fun for them and I always get the best images!

Don’t worry. You’re in good hands.

I’ve been photographing children of all ages from newborn to teenagers since 2010! I’m also the mother of three children.

I love kids!!!!

I truly enjoy our time together.

So please don’t worry, I promise you are in good hands!
